A seminar on ‘Building Technology for Natural Catastrophes:Earthquake and Cyclone Events’ was held at Presidency University on25th July,2013.

Department of Civil Engineering organized the seminar at its Gulshan campus .Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Vice Chancellor of the PresidencyUniversity and Macro-Finance Economics, addressed the seminar as chief guest. , Professor Dr Tapan Kumar Chakraborty, Dean, Faculty ofEngineering, Presidency University was presided over the seminar.Associate Professor Dr Mohammad Shariful Islam of Civil EngineeringDepartment of BUET and disaster management specialist presented the keynote at the seminat.

Dr Shahidul Hasan of Department of EEE, BUET, Dr Mohammad Nazmul Islam, Associate Professor, Dept of Civil Engineering, North South University and Dr. Miah Mohammad Hussainuzzaman, Associate Professor ,Dr.Farzana Rahman,Assistant Professor and Asif Ahmed, Lecture, Dept of Civil Engineering, Presidency University, also spoke on the
occasion.

Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali argued that impact of earthquake should be property handled with and quality of disaster management of Bangladesh must be improved.
