A seminar on “National Budget 2013-14” organised by Presidency
University at the University’s Banani Campus in Dhaka on 2 nd
June,2013 from 4 pm to 7pm.Prof Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Vice
Chancellor of the Presidency University, presided over the seminar.Dr.
Shoaib Ahmed, an adviser of a caretaker government, presided over the
seminar as chief guest while Jamshed Uz Zaman, Former Executive
Director General of Bangladesh Bank, presented key note paper.Jamshed Uz

Value-added Tax (VAT) in private universities education has been
identified as a barrier for students to study in Bangladesh.
In his address, Dr Shoaib Ahmed said that the forthcoming budget
should lay emphasis on tax revenue collection and proper
implementation of Annual Development Programme (ADP).
