A Seminar on “Language Movement and Emergence of Bangladesh” was took place on February 19th, 2012 Sunday at Presidency University. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Vice Chancellor of the Presidency University while the chief guest was Prof. Nurur Rahman khan, a senior Prof. of Bengali department of Dhaka University.
On this occasion Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Head of M.H. School of Business Shibli Ahmed Khan, Head of English department gave their speech. Among others Dr. Miah Md. Hussainuzzaman, Associate Prof. of Civil Engineering Department, Shahnaz Akter & Tasnia Islam, Lecturer of English Department were also spoke on this occasion.
Prof. Ali expressed his gratitude on recent high court verdict to practice Bangla in correct manner.
Prof. Khan, in his speech he discussed about the practice for rights of speaking in Bengali language over decade.
Prof. Hossain, in his presidential speech opined that we need to increase skill in English language besides the proper practice of mother language.
Later teachers and students took promise to practice mother language in correct way.
