Presidency University Cine Club was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr Anwar Hossain, Vice-chancellor of the university, on its campus on 26th January,2011.

An inauguration programme to mark the occasion was organised, which was addressed, among others, by Prof. Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Head of the university’s M.H. School of Business, Dr.Mohammad Nazmul
Islam, Head, Dept. of Civil Enginering, Mr.Shibly Ahmed Khan, Head, Dept. of English and S.M. Abdus Shakur, a lecturer and convenor of the newly formed club.

Prof. Hossain in his speech said that to enrich one’s knowledge of other cultures and thereby enlighten one’s mind it is imperative that one should get involved with cultural activities such as watching movies and organizing movie-watching events.

Students may benefit immensely from such extracurricular activities, he added.
