Presidency University welcomed the freshmen of spring 2019 through a colourful reception on March 13, 2019. It was arranged in the Aman Conference Hall at the Gulshan campus of the University at 3 pm. Both the campuses were decorated colourfully on this occasion. The Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Matiur Rahman chaired the session. The chairperson of the Board of Trustees Mrs. Rokia Afzal Rahman, was present as the chief guest and Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammed Muniruzzaman, was present as the special guest of the programme.
The programme started with the welcome address by the university advisor Maj Gen Kazi Ashfaq Ahmed (Retd). Among the others who spoke on the occasion were Prof. Dr. Nurur Rahman, the dean of School of Business; Prof. Dr. Abul Lais M.S Haque, the dean of School of Engineering; Prof.Dr. Md. Idris Ali, the chairman of the department of CE; Y.A.M Rafiqul Haq, the chairman of the department of BBA; Md. Habibullah, the chairman of the department of English; Dr. Engr. Zahid Hossain Prodhan, Professor, department of CE; Md. Sarwar Khaled, MBA program director. All the speakers encouraged the learners to use their time effectively so that they can build a better career and contribute to the development of the country in future.
The program ended with colourful and entertaining cultural events arranged by the students of Presidency University. The programme was sponsored by DHAKA BANK, and supported by PRAN Group and Polar Ice-cream.
