Technical Seminar on Mobile Communication by Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd

EVENT DESCRIPTION

A technical seminar on “Mobile Communication from Industry Perspective” was held on July 29, 2010 at 5:00 pm in the Room # 6003 of Presidency University’s Banani campus. The seminar was organized by the Department of ECE and coordinated by Engr. Muhibul Haque Bhuyan, Assistant Professor of ECE Department. The key-note speaker of the seminar was Engr. Md. Habibur Rahman, General Manager, Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd. All the Faculty Members and around sixty undergraduate students of ECE Department participated in the seminar.

At first, Engr. Muhibul Haque Bhuyan introduced the speaker among the audiences and briefly describes the speaker’s profile. The speaker explains the technical structure of the mobile communication system in the beginning, and then he talked about the potential markets of the mobile phone operators in Bangladesh. Gradually he showed various features of the different generations of mobile communication technologies that expedites the rapid growth of the mobile communication industry worldwide. He also explained how government run mobile operator Teletalk played a vital role in changing the mobile market scenario especially in reducing the SIM charge and call rate tremendously. He showed the present mobile market size in Bangladesh. Concluding remarks on the growth of the mobile industry in Bangladesh rounded off this technical seminar. Finally, there was a lively question and answer sessions among the speakers, Faculty Members and the students. In the end, Dr. Tapan Kumar Chakraborty, Professor and Head of the ECE Department, in his concluding speech explains how Presidency University maintains quality education in different ways and hopes that the nation will be benefited out this effort in the long run. He also extended his heartiest gratitude and thanks to all presented in the seminar.
