A technical seminar on "Image Sensors: An Overview"
EVENT DESCRIPTION
A technical seminar on "Image Sensors: An Overview" was held on October 31, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the Room # 6003 of Presidency University’s Banani campus. The seminar was organized by the Department of ECE and co-ordinated by Mr. Rashadul Kabir, Lecturer of ECE Department. Former JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Moniruzzaman was present as the special guest.
The speaker of the seminar was Khan L. Kabir, he was the Design Development Engineer, Technical Specialist Program Manager at Xerox Corporation, Webster, NY. He worked on Device characterization & verification of CMOS & CCD linear image sensors between 1984-2010. He also worked as an Engineering Manager, System Test Center for Human Touch Sensing Technologies, Elo Touch Solutions, Rochester, NY & Paris, France between 2010-2012. Currently, he is working as a as a Technology Specialist at a school in Rochester, NY.
At first, Mr. Rashadul Kabir introduced the speaker among the audiences and briefly described the speaker’s profile. At the start, the speaker explained the growing world of the image sensors market. After that he explained the various types of image sensors and showed the working principle of different types of sensors, and various design stages. He also discussed about the fabrication process of image sensors. Finally, there was a lively question and answer sessions among the speaker, faculty members and the students.
In the concluding speech, Mr. Shahruk Osman, Assistant Professor and Acting Head of the ECE Department, expressed his hope that through this seminar the students will be benefited. He also extended his heartiest gratitude and thanks to the speaker and all others present in the seminar. The seminar was ended with the distribution of snacks among the students
