General Information

M. M. Fahad Islam Barno is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Presidency University, Bangladesh. He completed his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2022 and is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Civil and Transportation Engineering at BUET, having completed his coursework with his thesis underway. His academic and research interests span transportation safety and planning, including pedestrian safety and AI/ML applications in transportation, water and wastewater treatment, water quality assessment, environmental health, sustainable and geopolymer concrete, and with published work on intelligent transportation systems for crash risk analysis, activated-carbon-based removal of heavy metals, urban lake water quality, recycled brick dust and fly ash-based geopolymer concrete. Additionally, he has been serving as Program Coordinator for the Department of Civil Engineering since November 2024 and as Assistant Proctor since April 2026.
